In the Beginning
Fifteen years ago, we worked with our very first test prep student in a library in Ohio. She came to us really embarrassed about her low score, which wasn't even breaking 900.
After the program, she scored a 1520, and she and her family were thrilled. Her family knew she wasn't going to qualify for financial aid, so they were pleasantly surprised when she earned an $8,000 per year merit scholarship to her top choice. That covered nearly 40% of her tuition, which was a 3.2x ROI in scholarships.
Her original goal was a 1250, which she needed to be competitive for a selective track in a top business school. She wanted that program because of its focus on social media, and she was already building her brand with nearly 20,000 Instagram followers at the time.
The Spark
She referred nine friends. One of those friends referred twelve more. Word spread quickly.
At the same time, our results were consistently above industry standards. Students starting with 1200+ scores were finishing in the top 2% of test-takers nationwide.
Private family clients were limited to only 10-12 per year, and those spots became highly coveted, with families joining waitlists to secure them.
For years, families guarded our name, sharing it only with their closest friends and relatives. We never advertised because word-of-mouth alone kept our limited private spaces full each year. By 2021, those quiet referrals had expanded into Arizona and California, and today the majority of our most dedicated families still come from the West.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help students adopt the 1550+ way of life...thinking bigger, pushing harder, and transforming what they believe is possible.
1550+
In 2020, test prep as an industry began to fade as more families chose test-optional admissions. A few years earlier, we had already expanded into college admissions services for our most elite clients, so we shifted focus and stopped offering group test prep classes altogether.
We continued working privately with a small handful of students each year, and our results only got stronger. Families eventually realized that admissions and scholarships were still tied to test scores, and when top universities reinstated testing requirements, demand surged again.
By 2024, 22% of our students had achieved a perfect score, and nearly every student we worked with scored 1500 or higher. That same year, we launched free community programs as both service and research, adapting our methods after the major shift to the digital SAT. Since then, we’ve tested, refined, and built what we believe is the most effective SAT prep system available today.
