TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before purchasing or using any of our programs. By enrolling in, accessing, or using any 1550plus service, you agree to be legally bound by everything in this document. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1.Agreement and Acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between College Mastermind LLC, doing business as 1550plus (“1550plus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and any individual or organization that purchases, enrolls in, accesses, or uses our SAT, ACT, and PSAT preparation programs, private tutoring, group classes, digital materials, and related offerings (collectively, the “Services”). These Terms govern all purchases and use of Services provided through 1550plus.com and any related platforms used to deliver them. If you are under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms on your behalf and must be the purchaser of record. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not access or use the Services.
These Terms incorporate by reference our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. In the event of any inconsistency, these Terms govern the purchase and use of Services, the Privacy Policy governs the collection and use of personal information, and the Terms of Use govern general website access and user-generated content.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted with a revised Effective Date, and, where required, we will provide reasonable notice. Continued use of the Services after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you should discontinue use of the Services. Questions may be directed to contact@1550plus.com.
The Services are provided for the personal educational use of the enrolled student. Access to the Services is generally limited to the registered user and may not be transferred, shared, or used for commercial purposes without prior written consent, subject to applicable law. Participation in any free programs is voluntary and subject to separate terms, disclaimers, and limitations of liability. Except as expressly stated in these Terms, the Company does not guarantee any specific results or outcomes from the use of the Services.
2.Eligibility and Parental Consent
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use the interactive features of our Services. Children under 13 are not permitted to use our Services or provide personal information to us. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be the purchaser and account holder of record, must accept these Terms on the student's behalf, and is responsible for payment and reasonable supervision. The parent or guardian agrees to supervise the student's use of our Services, ensure the student follows all scheduling and conduct rules, and consents to receiving program-related communications about the student including scheduling updates, attendance records, progress reports, and support notices. We may require verifiable parental consent before activating access for any minor.
If you are enrolling students on behalf of a school, district, or organization, you represent that you have full authority to bind that institution, that you will obtain all required parental consents for minor students, and that you will designate a responsible point of contact for all scheduling, roster management, and communication purposes.
Our Services are primarily marketed to customers in the United States. If you access our Services from outside the U.S., you do so at your own risk and are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable local and U.S. laws. You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, that all information you provide is accurate, and that you will not misrepresent your age, identity, or affiliation for any reason.
3.Accounts and Security
To access paid Services, you must create an account using accurate, current, and complete information. You agree to update your information promptly whenever it changes. We may reject or require correction of any registration that is inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading.
Each enrollment is tied to a single named student and is non-transferable. Login credentials should not be shared with any other person. We may monitor for and restrict simultaneous or unusual logins and may suspend or terminate accounts we reasonably believe are being shared or misused.
You are responsible for keeping your username, password, and verification codes confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account. If you suspect your account has been compromised, you must notify us immediately at contact@1550plus.com. We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorized use of your credentials prior to such notice, subject to applicable law.
For proctored activities or eligibility for certain program features, we may require identity verification, such as a prior official score report or government-issued ID. We may deny or revoke access if verification is not provided or appears inaccurate or fraudulent.
You are responsible for maintaining compatible devices, browsers, and internet connectivity. We are not responsible for service interruptions caused by your hardware, software, or network. For proctored sessions, we may require camera and microphone access and basic environment checks to maintain academic integrity. Declining required proctoring measures may result in a session being considered incomplete or may affect eligibility for certain program benefits.
You may request account closure at any time by contacting contact@1550plus.com. We may retain limited records as required by law, for fraud prevention, and to enforce these Terms, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
4.Enrollment, Scheduling, and Rescheduling
Your seat is reserved when payment is accepted and you receive a confirmation email. Each enrollment covers only the named student, listed program, dates, and format. All session times are displayed in the time zone shown at checkout and in your student portal. You are responsible for joining sessions at the scheduled time with all required technology.
For Group Classes, you may transfer to a different cohort at least 7 days before the original start date, subject to availability and equivalent pricing. After a course begins, missed class meetings are not reschedulable or refundable. We may offer a one-time make-up at our discretion and subject to space, but availability is not guaranteed. If we cancel a class meeting, we will provide a comparable make-up or extend the schedule. If we cancel an entire cohort, we will offer a transfer or prorated refund where applicable.
For Private Tutoring, you may reschedule a session at no charge by providing at least 24 hours notice through your portal or by emailing contact@1550plus.com. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a session, arrivals 15 or more minutes late, and no-shows are treated as forfeited and billable sessions. We may substitute another qualified tutor when necessary, and you may request a different tutor for future sessions based on availability and fit.
All reschedule requests must be submitted through your portal scheduling link or by emailing contact@1550plus.com with your name, program, and preferred times. Requests sent directly to instructors by message or text are not effective. Sessions start and end at scheduled times and late arrivals do not extend session length. Any attendance dispute must be raised within 3 days. We may waive penalties for documented emergencies such as medical issues or bereavement at our reasonable discretion.
5.Fees, Payments, and Late Fees
All prices are listed in USD and may change prospectively. You are responsible for all applicable taxes including sales, use, VAT, and GST, which will be added at checkout where required. By submitting a payment method, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge all amounts due, including taxes, fees, and installments, to that method and to store it for future authorized charges. We use Helcim as our secure third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card number; we retain only a payment token to process authorized charges.
If you select an installment plan, you agree to automatic charges on the schedule shown at checkout. Missed payments may result in suspension of access until the balance is resolved. We will send reminders and allow a 7-day grace period for missed payments. If the balance remains unpaid after the grace period, a flat $25 late fee may apply with no interest or additional penalties. After two failed payment attempts and at least one reminder, access may be paused until payment is made or a payment arrangement is agreed. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please contact us at contact@1550plus.com and we will do our best to work with you.
If you believe a billing error has occurred, please email us at contact@1550plus.com within 30 days of the charge. We will investigate and correct verified errors by credit or refund. We will not pause your access during a good-faith review. Promotional codes are personal, apply only to listed products and dates, and generally cannot be combined unless stated. Discounts are not retroactive. Refunds are issued for the amount actually paid after any discounts applied.
For California residents purchasing subscriptions or auto-renewing plans, we will clearly present all renewal terms, billing frequency, cancellation instructions, and pricing at checkout and in a post-purchase confirmation email. California residents may cancel at any time via the portal cancellation link or by emailing contact@1550plus.com with "Cancel" in the subject line.
6.Refunds and Cancellations
To request a refund or cancellation, please email contact@1550plus.com with your name, order number, and program details. We will acknowledge your request within five (5) business days and provide further instructions.
For Group Courses, a full refund is available if requested within seven (7) days of purchase and at least seventy-two (72) hours before the first scheduled class. Requests made within seventy-two (72) hours of the start date may be eligible for a transfer to another cohort or a full store credit. After a course has commenced, refunds are generally not available; however, a one-time transfer or make-up session may be offered at our discretion, subject to availability.
For Private Tutoring, a full refund is available if requested within seven (7) days of purchase and prior to the first scheduled session. After the first session, a prorated refund for any unused sessions may be available if requested within thirty (30) days of purchase, with completed sessions charged at the applicable rate. Late cancellations, missed sessions, or no-shows will be treated as used sessions in accordance with Section 4.
Digital products or downloadable materials are non-refundable once accessed, except where required by applicable law. Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within approximately ten (10) business days, subject to processing times of financial institutions. Gift cards, promotional credits, and fees not paid directly to us (such as third-party exam fees) are non-refundable, except as required by applicable law. Store credits, where issued, are non-transferable and valid for twelve (12) months from the date of issuance.
In the event of serious and unforeseen circumstances (such as medical emergencies, bereavement, natural disasters, or military obligations), you may contact us within fourteen (14) days of the affected period. We may request reasonable supporting information. Where appropriate, we may offer fair accommodations on a case-by-case basis, which may include rescheduling sessions, extending access, converting unused portions to credit, or issuing a prorated refund, as applicable.
7.Score Improvement Guarantee
If you complete all applicable program requirements and your official score does not improve by at least SAT +150 points, ACT +3 points, or PSAT +150 points compared to your verified baseline, you may be eligible, at your option, for either a course tuition credit toward a retake or tutoring package, or a refund of the course tuition actually paid, excluding books, shipping, and third-party fees, subject to applicable law.
Your baseline score must be either an official College Board or ACT score taken within twelve (12) months prior to your first class, or a proctored diagnostic administered by us before the first class session. The baseline must be submitted within seven (7) days of your first class session.
To qualify for this guarantee, you must attend at least ninety percent (90%) of live sessions (or watch any missed recordings within seven (7) days where available), complete at least eighty percent (80%) of assigned homework, complete a minimum of three (3) full-length practice tests within our system, and sit for the official exam within sixty (60) to ninety (90) days following completion of the course.
To submit a claim, you must email us within thirty (30) days of receiving your official score report, along with your baseline score, proof of course completion, practice test records, and updated official score. We will review submissions within approximately ten (10) business days.
This guarantee is limited to one claim per student per exam type and is capped at the amount of course tuition actually paid. It does not apply where the baseline score is SAT 1500 or higher, ACT 34 or higher, or PSAT 1450 or higher. Claims may be denied in cases of academic dishonesty, failure to meet program requirements, or incomplete or inaccurate documentation.
8.Code of Conduct and Academic Integrity
All students, parents, and participants are expected to treat instructors and peers with respect and courtesy at all times. Harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats, or disruptive behavior of any kind is strictly prohibited. Students must follow all instructor directions during live sessions and adhere to all classroom etiquette standards including joining on time using their enrolled name, minimizing background noise, and using chat and reactions appropriately.
All work submitted must be the student's own. Cheating, plagiarism, sharing answers during class, using unapproved aids during practice tests or proctored activities, and asking us to write essays or application materials are all prohibited and may result in immediate removal and loss of guarantee eligibility.
We may record live classes and tutoring sessions for safety, quality assurance, make-up access, and staff training. A clear notice will always appear before any recording begins. By joining a session, you consent to being recorded. For minor students, this consent is provided by the parent or guardian upon enrollment. Recordings are available in view-only format in your student portal while your subscription is active. Downloading, copying, screen-recording, reposting, clipping, or sharing recordings, screenshots, transcripts, or chat logs in any form is strictly prohibited. Recordings are the intellectual property of 1550plus and will not be used in public marketing without your separate written consent.
For proctored diagnostics and practice tests, you may be asked to show your testing environment and keep your camera and microphone active throughout the session. Unauthorized breaks, outside materials, or outside assistance may void the session and affect your guarantee eligibility. Violations of this section may result in a warning, removal from a session, feature restrictions, suspension, or termination of enrollment without refund. Serious or repeated violations may result in loss of eligibility for any refund or guarantee. To report misconduct, email contact@1550plus.com with the date, session name, and a description of what occurred.
9.Content, Intellectual Property, and Permitted Use
All course materials, recordings, slides, practice tests, question banks, solutions, workbooks, portals, and website content are owned by 1550plus or our licensors. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
While you are enrolled, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable personal license to access and use our materials for your own private study only. This license ends when your subscription or enrollment ends. You may not share, redistribute, resell, repost, or publicly distribute any course materials including PDFs, slides, practice tests, or portal content. You may not use our content to build or improve any competing course, application, or service, or to train any machine learning or artificial intelligence model including through scraping or dataset creation.
You retain ownership of homework, messages, and materials you upload to our platform. By submitting them, you grant us a limited license to host, display, and use your submissions to operate our program and improve our services. We may use de-identified and aggregated data for analytics and product improvement. Do not upload any material you do not have the right to share.
If you voluntarily submit feedback or suggestions to us, that feedback is non-confidential, and you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, copy, modify, and incorporate it into our products and services without compensation or attribution. This does not affect your ownership of your own coursework or uploaded materials.
If you believe any content on our platform infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact our copyright agent at contact@1550plus.com with a notice meeting the requirements of 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3). We will investigate and take appropriate action, including removing content and, where warranted, terminating repeat infringers.
10.Gift Cards and Referral Program
Gift cards are redeemable only for eligible 1550plus programs and are applied to the named student's account. They are not redeemable for cash except where required by law, do not expire, and carry no dormancy fees. Gift cards may not be resold, used to purchase other gift cards, or combined with certain promotions unless stated. Lost or stolen cards are not replaced unless we can verify the unused balance and original proof of purchase. Fraudulent use voids the card. If a purchase made with a gift card is refunded, the gift card portion is returned to the gift card balance.
We may offer a referral program where you earn 1550plus credit when someone you refer makes a qualifying purchase using your unique referral link or code. Participants must be 18 or older to earn credit independently; students under 18 may participate only with a parent or guardian as the account holder. A referral is qualified only if the referred person is new to 1550plus, uses your link or code at checkout, completes a qualifying paid purchase, and does not cancel or charge back within the applicable refund window. Earned credits are non-transferable, valid for 12 months, and posted after the refund window closes. Self-referrals, fake accounts, code stacking, spam, and misleading claims are strictly prohibited and may result in revocation of all earned credits.
11.Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Our Services are educational in nature and are not a substitute for legal, medical, financial, or psychological advice. We do not guarantee college admission, scholarships, or any specific academic outcome beyond our Score Improvement Guarantee as described in Section 7. Except as expressly stated in these Terms, all Services and materials are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Schedules, features, and content may change. We are not responsible for outages, changes, or failures related to third-party platforms including video conferencing, payment processing, analytics, or proctoring tools. For material service disruptions within our control, we will provide a reasonable make-up, extension, or credit.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim arising from or related to our Services is limited to the amount you actually paid for the affected program. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost opportunities, lost data, or similar losses. These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including fraud or willful misconduct. Some states do not permit certain liability limitations, and your rights may vary accordingly.
12.Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and applicable U.S. federal law. Before filing any formal claim, please email us at contact@1550plus.com with a brief description of the issue and your contact information. We will work in good faith to resolve the matter within 30 days. Except for small claims matters and requests for injunctive relief to stop IP misuse, unauthorized access, or content abuse, any dispute between you and 1550plus will be resolved through individual binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Hearings will be conducted by video or phone unless an in-person hearing is required. The arbitrator may award any relief a court could provide where permitted by law, and the award is final and enforceable.
You and 1550plus agree to bring all claims only on an individual basis and not as part of any class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding. You may opt out of arbitration and the class action waiver within 30 days of your first enrollment by emailing contact@1550plus.com with your name, account email, and the subject line "Opt Out." Opting out will not affect your access to our Services. Either party may file eligible matters in small claims court in your U.S. county or state of residence, or in Marion County, Indiana. For claims not subject to arbitration, the exclusive venue will be the state or federal courts in Marion County, Indiana, and both parties consent to jurisdiction there.
13.General Provisions
We send all legal and account notices to the email address on file or through your portal. Email is considered received when sent unless we receive a delivery failure notice. Your enrollment and rights under these Terms are personal and non-transferable. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with reasonable notice to you.
These Terms, together with your order confirmation, our Privacy Policy, and our Terms of Use, constitute the entire agreement between you and 1550plus. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and will be modified only to the minimum extent necessary to make them enforceable. Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms on one occasion does not waive our right to enforce it in the future. Waivers must be in writing. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control such as outages, natural disasters, or government actions. Where a disruption is material, we will offer a reasonable make-up, extension, or credit.
You agree to conduct business with us electronically. Electronic signatures and click-to-accept confirmations have the same legal effect as handwritten signatures. You consent to receive documents electronically and may request paper copies where required by law. These Terms create rights only between you and 1550plus and do not create any third-party beneficiary rights.
The following sections survive the end of your enrollment: Fees and Billing, Refunds, Intellectual Property and Content, Gift Cards as to earned credits, Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability, Dispute Resolution, and these General Provisions.
